Lars Bohman Gallery is proud to present the gallery's first solo exhibition with Emily Sundblad.
Through her own artistry, by running her own art gallery and being member of several artist collectives Emily Sundblad is questioning hierarchical structures of identity within the art world. As a multi-artist she creates her own worlds by combining painting, performance acts and music. As the co-founder of New York’s young art scene’s pivotal gallery Reena Spaulings Fine Art she represents artists like Klara Lidén, Kim Gordon, Bjarne Melgaard and Jutta Koether.
Emily Sundblad was born in 1977 in Dalsjöfors and lives and works in New York. She studied at Parsons School of Design, New York and at The Whitney Independent Study Program, New York. She has exhibited at a large range of institutions and galleries including the Tate Modern, London, PS1 MoMA, New York, The Whitney Biennial, New York, Bonnier's Konsthall, Stockholm, Malmö Konsthall, Kunsthalle Düsseldorf, Gagosian Gallery, New York and at Algus Greenspon Gallery, New York.
